Free half-day Universal Pre-K (UPK Site # 31RAAA) with Pre-K 4 extended day; Pre-K through 8th Grade. The Academy of St. Dorothy was founded in 1932 by the Sisters of St. Dorothy. The Sisters continue to be involved with the spiritual guidance of the children and their families. The Academy of Saint Dorothy is an AdvancED accredited school, featuring air-conditioned classrooms with technology integrated into various aspects of classroom instruction. Drama, Girl
Scouts, and Music Lessons are offered as after-school activities. The ASD Sports program includes Basketball, Bowling, Cross-Country, and Track along with various clinics to introduce students to other sports. The Academy of St. Dorothy family is dedicated to helping those in need through various community service projects. Our students are well-rounded individuals who receive a quality education and embody the values of caring and compassion.

Founded in 1917, Blessed Sacrament School strives to provide students with a Christian foundation that assists them in developing spiritually, academically, and socially. We take pride in challenging our students academically, but the ultimate goal of our faculty and staff is to be positive role models for our students and guide them to walk in the footsteps of Jesus. We foster an atmosphere of love where all students are treated with dignity and respect. We offer free Universal Pre K 4 year old program through our Blessed Sacrament Early Childhood Academy.

Our goal has always been to secure the future of Catholic education on Staten Island and we have seen a great need for a seamless educational experience from PreK 3 through 8th grade that will welcome students of all learning levels and from all communities. The new academy’s namesake, Father Vincent Capodanno, a Staten Island resident, joined the Maryknolls as a missionary at the age of 20, went on to become a military chaplain, and died heroically while administering last rites to a dying soldier on the battlefield during the Vietnam War. Father Capodanno was an ordinary man who did extraordinary things in his life, and the Vatican’s Congregation for the Causes of Saints has officially accepted his cause for sainthood. The new name of the school will convey to our students that they must excel in every endeavor and fearlessly accept every challenge, just as Father Vincent Capodanno did.

Founded in 1903 by the Sisters of the Congregation of Notre Dame, Notre Dame Academy is an all-girls Catholic school located on Grymes Hill, Staten Island. The Academy’s mission is to advance, embody, and excel at educating girls and young women to transform society. Notre Dame provides a nurturing and academically challenging community that enables each girl to develop a sense of identity and self-confidence, preparing her to be a responsible member of her school and her world community. Admission is offered to applicants in the 2, 3, and 4-year-old programs and Kindergarten through Grade 8. Most students go on to attend Notre Dame Academy High School. Notre Dame Academy is accredited by Cognia and offers a rich and robust educational program that includes foreign language, music, art, physical education, project-based science, computer science, performing arts, religion, and STEAM courses. Mathematics and Language Arts curricula are accelerated for middle school students to allow for Algebra I and Earth Science Regents Courses in the 8th grade. Middle School electives include theater, coding, journalism, yoga, and world cultures.

Students benefit from an education where technology is integrated with instruction beginning in pre-kindergarten; one-to-one Chromebook program; Google Drive and Google Classroom; interactive boards in every classroom; Computer Science Curriculum beginning in PK3; high-speed internet umbrella over the entire campus. Bus service and a delectable lunch program provide convenience for families. There is a full-time nurse on staff. Notre Dame Academy also offers an enjoyable Summer Camp. Open House dates for the 2024-2025 school year are Friday, December 6th, 4-6 pm, and Friday, February 7th, 2-4 pm. Founded by the Sisters of Charity in 1959, Our Lady of the Sea School is dedicated to all student’s growth in faith, academics, personal awareness, social interaction and future success. Through diverse classroom instruction, teachers strive to instill strong Christian values, a desire to learn, the ability to meet challenges and a rich understanding of the world.

Grades Pre-K to 8; Our Lady Star of the Sea offers a rigorous curriculum in a fully air-conditioned building. Enrichment programs include art, music, physical education, and computer classes, for all students in K-8. Spanish classes for PreK 4 to 5 grade. STEM programs include MegaMinds, Supernovas and the SOLE program with St. Joseph by the Sea High School. Sacred Heart School provides all children with a Values-Infusion Curriculum deeply rooted in Catholicism. Bishop Patrick V. Ahern High School, under the Seton Foundation for Learning is a private, special education program for students ranging from 14-21 years of age. The Seton Foundation for Learning is affiliated with the Department of Education of the Archdiocese of New York, from which it is granted accreditation. The program is open to all faiths and religions. The curriculum teaches age appropriate, functional skill development while continuing to provide academic enrichment and teach skills necessary for independence. The proximity of our host school, Moore Catholic High School, provides for continued opportunities throughout the school day for the students of Bishop Ahern High School to interact with their typically developing peers.

The Seton Foundation provides a warm and nurturing setting for students who learn differently, are medically fragile ,or require specialized instruction to meet their needs. We provide all of the necessary services that our students are entitled to as part of their IEP and help them to reach their personal best. Our students have needs that cannot be met in the local schools. Come take a tour of our unique school. The Joan Ann Kennedy Memorial Preschool is a full day state approved center based 12-month program that offers a positive learning environment for children with developmental disabilities ages 2.9 – 4.9. When students enter our program, their current level of functioning is assessed and programs are created based on their developmental skills and individual needs. Our learning environment fosters growth in overall academics, language development, positive behavior and social skills such as play skills and peer interaction. Our small supportive classrooms consist of 6:1:1 or 10:1:2 ratios.

The Mother Franciska Elementary School, under the Seton Foundation for Learning, is a private special education school located in Staten Island, New York. Our school provides 10 and 12 month educational services to students with significant special needs, ages 5 to 14 years old. We offer individualized instruction in small, highly structured classes with low student to teacher ratios. Our goal is to teach our students meaningful and functional age appropriate skills that are necessary to develop independence by providing them with a functional academic curriculum.
