John F. Kennedy Catholic Preparatory School has been providing quality Catholic education to the Mid-Hudson valley region for over 55 years. Strong in college preparatory academics, the school boasts of high SAT scores, 100% college placement and competitive varsity sports for both boys and girls. Located in Northern Westchester, the school’s co-ed population comprises over 61 school districts. Kennedy Catholic Prep offers the latest in instructional pedagogy combining Apple iPad technology with the Canvas online learning management system. Kennedy Catholic’s faith based, college preparatory education is overseen by Archdiocesan priests, deacons and a lay faculty. St. Mary’s Academy (SMA) is the 6th – 8th grade intermediate school of Kennedy Catholic Preparatory School (KCPS). Flourishing in the West Wing of KCPS, SMA has doubled in size in its second year, 2023-2024. Over 70 middle school students enjoy the best that our 63-acre campus has to offer. New this year is the SMA STEM room, designed with work spaces suited for laboratory equipment and age appropriate science based activities. SMA offers the same time-tested Catholic school curriculum and values-centered education as KCPS. The program fulfills middle school educational standards of Middle States Commissions of Elementary and Secondary Schools and College Board’s Pre-AP Program, including classical languages and STEM project based education that utilizes the Apple iPad and Canvas online learning systems.

School At-a-Glance

Kennedy Catholic provides opportunities for college credits from the PACE Lubin School of Business, St. John’s University, Iona University and SUNY Albany with a full AP offering from the College Board, as well as a competitive STEM program, Vex Robotics Team, and National Honor Society. Other enrichment programs include Foreign Languages, Physical Education, Health Education and Fine Arts. Athletics programs include: cheerleading, football, tennis, field hockey, volleyball, cross country, soccer, basketball, indoor track, girls swimming, wrestling, baseball, softball, golf, track & field, and lacrosse. Over 30 extra curricular clubs, led by faculty members and student leaders, are offered every year in addition to academic extra help provided by National Honor Society peer-tutors.
SMA students are also offered academic support, extracurricular activities, and community building events throughout the year. There are nearly a dozen clubs offered in the 2023-2024 school year, including Chess, Girls in STEM, and Lego in addition to the student-produced Literary Magazine and Yearbook.
