Free half-day Universal Pre-K (UPK Site # 31RAAA) with Pre-K 4 extended day; Private Pre-K 3 through 8th Grade. The Academy of St. Dorothy was founded in 1932 by the Sisters of St. Dorothy. The Sisters continue to be involved with the spiritual guidance of the children and their families. The Academy of Saint Dorothy is an Cognia accredited school, featuring air-conditioned classrooms with technology, including personal chrome books integrated into various aspects of classroom instruction. Early arrival as well as After Care is available to all students. After School activities include Girl Scouts, Woodworking Club, Spotlight Theater and Paul Effman Music Instruction. The ASD Sports program includes CYO Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country and Track; Volleyball and Lacrosse Clinics.

Founded in 1917, Blessed Sacrament School strives to provide students with a Christian foundation that assists them in developing spiritually, academically, and socially. Our goal has always been to secure the future of Catholic education on Staten Island and we have seen a great need for a seamless educational experience from PreK 3 through 8th grade that will welcome students of all learning levels and from all communities. The new academy’s namesake, Father Vincent Capodanno, a Staten Island resident, joined the Maryknolls as a missionary at the age of 20, went on to become a military chaplain, and died heroically while administering last rites to a dying soldier on the battlefield during the Vietnam War. Father Capodanno was an ordinary man who did extraordinary things in his life, and the Vatican’s Congregation for the Causes of Saints has officially accepted his cause for sainthood. The new name of the school will convey to our students that they must excel in every endeavor and fearlessly accept every challenge, just as Father Vincent Capodanno did.

Founded in 1903 by the Sisters of the Congregation of Notre Dame, Notre Dame Academy is a Catholic all-girls school located on Grymes Hill, Staten Island. The Academy’s mission is to advance, embody, and excel at educating girls and young women to transform society. Notre Dame provides a nurturing and academically challenging community that enables each girl to develop a sense of identity and self-confidence, preparing her to be a responsible member of her school and her world community. Admission is offered to applicants in the 3- and 4-year-old programs, as well as Kindergarten through Grade 8. Most students go on to attend Notre Dame Academy High School. Notre Dame Academy is accredited by the Middle States Association. It offers a rich and robust educational program that includes foreign language, music, art, physical education, project-based science, computer science, performing arts, religion, and STEAM courses. Mathematics and Language Arts curricula are accelerated for middle school students to allow for Algebra I and Living Science Biology Regents Courses in the 8th grade. Middle School electives include theater, financial literacy, art, and mixed media journalism.

Students benefit from an education that integrates technology with instruction, beginning in pre-kindergarten. This includes a one-to-one Chromebook program, Google Drive and Google Classroom, interactive boards in every classroom, a Computer Science Curriculum introduced in PK3, and a high-speed internet connection covering the entire campus. Extracurricular Enrichment programs include Soccer, Swimming, Track, Tennis, and Basketball. Additionally, there are Readers Are Leaders, Art Show, Essay, and Public Speaking contests. Other programs include the Tennis Club, Robotics, Bell Choir, Book Club, Big Sister Club, Theater Club, and Girl Scouts. Bus service and a delectable lunch program provide convenience for families. A full-time nurse is on staff. Parent Guild events throughout the year build community and provide opportunities for service and socialization. Open House dates for the 2025-2026 school year are Friday, December 12, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, and Friday, March 6, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Bishop Patrick V. Ahern High School, under the Seton Foundation for Learning is a private, special education program for students ranging from 14-21 years of age. The Seton Foundation for Learning is affiliated with the Department of Education of the Archdiocese of New York, from which it is granted accreditation. The program is open to all faiths and religions. The curriculum teaches age appropriate, functional skill development while continuing to provide academic enrichment and teach skills necessary for independence. The proximity of our host school, Moore Catholic High School, provides for continued opportunities throughout the school day for the students of Bishop Ahern High School to interact with their typically developing peers.

The Seton Foundation provides a warm and nurturing setting for students who learn differently, are medically fragile ,or require specialized instruction to meet their needs. We provide all of the necessary services that our students are entitled to as part of their IEP and help them to reach their personal best. The Joan Ann Kennedy Memorial Preschool is a full day state approved center based 12-month program that offers a positive learning environment for children with developmental disabilities ages 2.9 – 4.9. When students enter our program, their current level of functioning is assessed and programs are created based on their developmental skills and individual needs. Our learning environment fosters growth in overall academics, language development, positive behavior and social skills such as play skills and peer interaction. Our small supportive classrooms consist of 6:1:1 or 10:1:2 ratios.

The Mother Franciska Elementary School, under the Seton Foundation for Learning, is a private special education school located in Staten Island, New York. Our school provides 10 and 12 month educational services to students with significant special needs, ages 5 to 14 years old. We offer individualized instruction in small, highly structured classes with low student to teacher ratios. Our goal is to teach our students meaningful and functional age appropriate skills that are necessary to develop independence by providing them with a functional academic curriculum.
