Welcome to the Academy of St. Paul & St. Ann

Beginning in the 2020-2021 academic year, St. Ann, The Personal School and St. Paul School will combine to form the Academy of St. Paul & St. Ann. This new Academy of St. Paul & St. Ann will bring together on one campus two amazing school communities poised to become the center for Catholic education in East Harlem. To do this, the Academy will be housed on the current campus of St. Paul School.

Bringing these two schools together ensures that all Academy students will continue to have access to a rigorous and personalized curriculum that includes a robust music and arts program, as well as a state-of-the-art science lab.

Your Principal, Mr. Taola, has been named the leader of the Academy, and the Regional Superintendent’s office will provide every assistance to him in unifying these two school communities under one roof. The personalized and dynamic education your child(ren) have been receiving at the 118th street campus will continue without interruption as we bring these two exceptional Catholic schools together in September, 2020.

Questions & Answers

In an effort to address most of your concerns, we have compiled the following questions and answers to assist you and your children with the upcoming transition

Who will my child’s teacher be?

In the next few days, we will be speaking with the teachers from both St. Ann and St. Paul who, based upon seniority, will be assigned as the faculty of the new Academy of St. Paul & St. Ann. Once we have spoken with the teachers, we will inform you.

What can I do if I already applied for the UPK or 3K program at St. Paul School through MySchools?

Your UPK or 3K application can be revised up until March 16th. You should call the Archdiocesan Office of Early Childhood at 646-794-2881 and someone will guide you through the whole process for revising your application.

Will I need to reapply to the new school?

No. The Archdiocese of New York Enrollment Office will ensure that your child’s Admissions application is transferred automatically to the new school in our online TADS Admissions System. If you applied for financial assistance, that application will also be transferred to the new school. Your TADS user name and password will remain unchanged.

Will my children be eligible for financial aid?

If your child received financial aid in the past, he/she will still be eligible.

  • If you have applied for aid for 2020-2021, your application will be transferred automatically to the new school.
  • If you have NOT yet renewed your financial assistance application, please submit your application just as you have in the past. Once your application is submitted, it will be transferred automatically to the new school.
  • You will receive a notification of your child’s financial aid award directly from TADS, as you have in the past.

Will I need to enroll at the new school?

  • If you have already enrolled and paid your registration fee, your TADS Enrollment and SMART Tuition accounts will reflect your enrollment automatically. No further action is needed on your part.
  • If you have NOT enrolled yet, your child’s TADS Enrollment account will be transferred to the new school in TADS, and you will be able to enroll and pay your registration fee at the new school.

What uniform will the children wear?

A new school uniform with the Academy logo will be selected this spring. Current students of St. Paul & St. Ann will be allowed to wear their current uniforms for the 2020-2021 school year.

Will before and after school charges remain the same?

The Extended Day Program will continue at the Academy of St. Paul & St. Ann, as will before and aftercare options.
