The 2025 Test for Admission into Catholic High Schools for 2026-27

Registration for TACHS internet and phone registration closes October 29, 2025!

Follow these three easy steps:

  • Select Your High School of Choice: click here to locate your school of choice in our School Finder (select “High Schools” to filter your selection. See below for available virtual tours, open houses and TACHs Prep Courses!
  • Review system requirements and devices required for testing prior to registration.
  • Click here to register online — starting at 9:00am ET on Monday, August 25, 2025. The window closes at 10:59pm ET on Wednesday, October 29, 2025!
  • You can also register by calling 1-866-61TACHS (1-866-618-2247). Once registration is completed, you will receive an email with your test session date/time/code. Students will be randomly assigned to a session at 8:30am or 10:00am on their diocese-aligned test date (no time preference accepted). Read the email thoroughly for other important information and “next steps.”
  • You may also access your test session date/time/code at tachsinfo.com. No paper notifications will be sent.

REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS AND TIMELINES

WHO

Students in the eighth grade during the 2025-2026 school year wishing to apply for fall 2026 admission into Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of New York, the Diocese of Brooklyn/Queens and the Diocese of Rockville Centre Long Island are eligible.

WHEN

  • Archdiocese of New York: Friday, November 7, 2025
  • Diocese of Brooklyn/Queens: Saturday, November 8, 2025
  • Diocese of Rockville Center (Catholic High Schools of Long Island): Saturday, November 8, 2025

WHAT

  • The remote online TACHS test is designed to measure school aptitude and scholastic achievement in Reading, Mathematics, and Language.

HOW

Start by viewing the 2025 TACHS Parent Calendar. You can find more information by clicking here for the detailed 2025 Registration Instructions.

Beginning Monday, August 25, 2024, there will be two ways to register:

  • Via the Internet (Preferred): visit www.tachsinfo.com; or
  • By phone at 1-866-61TACHS (1-866-618-2247). Open from 8:00am to 7:00pm Monday–Friday and 10:00am to 2:00pm  Saturday–Sunday (Eastern Time).
  • Please register by one method only, duplicate registrations will result in a processing fee.
  • LAST DAY TO REGISTER: October 29, 2025

Students requesting an extended time accommodation must send an email to Carmen Leon at secondary.schools@adnyeducation.org by Friday October 3, 2025. The form can be found online by clicking here.

Other important deadlines:

  • Deadline to enter high school choices: Friday November 7, 2025
  • Deadline for submitting applicant records to high schools: December 10, 2025
  • ADNY admissions release date: Wednesday January 21, 2026

FEE

A registration fee of $71 per student, payable by credit card, debit card or pre-paid card. Debit cards will be processed as credit transactions, and processing will be at the discretion of each individual’s bank.

The fee will include a student handbook, test materials, and the reporting of scores to THREE high schools of your choice.
