Important Announcement for Catholic School School Families
On June 18, 2026, the Office of the Superintendent of Schools announced that St. Columbanus School in Cortlandt Manor, NY, will conclude its ministry and permanently close at the end of next week. Throughout this year, school leadership, faculty, and families have been working faithfully to strengthen and build upon its future. However, after careful and prayerful consideration, it became clear that the school could not move forward in the 2026-2027 academic year (click here to read the full press release).
We apologize for the short notice and recognize the disruption and uncertainty this will cause your family as you make plans for the upcoming school year. Please see below to learn more about the next steps you can take for your family.
Our immediate priority is to ensure that every student can continue to receive a strong Catholic education. We are committed to supporting you throughout the transition with care and personal attention. We encourage you to contact your Regional Director of Enrollment to learn about the available options and support your child’s continued faith-filled education.

Mrs. Kelli DeRocha and her colleagues will work to help you and your child(ren) transition to another Catholic school for the 2026-2027 school year.
Please reach out to Mrs. DeRocha at Kelli.DeRocha@archny.org to arrange a convenient time for a phone call or in-person appointment. You can also call our bilingual parent helpline at (646) 794-2885 between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday-Friday.
- Learn more about the alternative schools you are considering.
Click here to find alternative Catholic schools in the area. Families will have the opportunity to enroll at St. Augustine School in Ossining, St. Patrick’s School in Yorktown Heights, or any other Catholic school in the Archdiocese of New York for the 2026–2027 academic year.
Contact your Director of Enrollment, who will help you review alternative schools and help you select the one that best fits your needs.
Mrs. DeRocha will also help arrange a call or personal tour with the principal of any school(s) you may be considering, to ensure that you have all the necessary information to make an informed choice for your family.
- Apply to the school where you want to send your child(ren).
Once you have selected a school, simply visit https://admissions.catholicschoolsny.org to submit your application. You will be required to set up a new FACTS login for the school to which you wish to apply.
Families are required to submit a new application and register at the new school for the 2026-2027 school year to hold a seat for their child(ren). If you have already submitted registration fees for the 2026–2027 academic year to St. Columbanus School, you will receive a refund of those fees.
The Archdiocese of New York is committed to making every effort to minimize the financial impact on your family during this transition.
- All St. Columbanus School families – including those not previously receiving assistance – will have a chance to apply for financial assistance as part of their application to a new participating school.
- If your child(ren) is receiving financial assistance for the 2026-2027 school year at St. Columbanus School, we will make every effort to carry that award over to the new participating school for 2026-2027 once you complete your admissions application.
